Why does my bonnet pop up while driving?

I have noticed that after returning from a couple of drives where I got up to 70mph that the bonnet has popped up as if the bonnet release had been pulled. Any ideas why?
Is this a common thing?

Sounds like the release cable is seized and not operating properly, I'd suggest getting someone to pull it open/shut while you lubricate the bits under the bonnet.

Its not latching shut completely when you close it. Lube cable and check operation.

I've not looked hard at the way the mechanism works but it could be that it's simply in need of some adjustment. I'm not sure if you adjust the latch mecanism itself or the bit that the latch mechanism locks onto. I'm sure someone here can tell you.
 
Check also that the spring that keeps it pulled towards the locked position isn't broken or the bits that hold the spring aren't broken
