Hi people

What the difference between to 03-onwards and the 07-onwards 1.8t engines?

How come the later one is more 'remap' tuneable?

Anybody know?
thanks

I don't know the answer.  There must be some subtle difference between the 1.8t and the 2.0t on later cars because Hirsch only offer the old 195 hp tune on the 1.8t for all years.  But they do two different tunes for the 2.0t with the change, as you say, at 2007.

Maptun do the two different tunes on both the 1.8t and the 2.0t.  I had always under stood that the two engines were the same apart from the software, but that looks to be wrong for the newer cars.

Maybe it's similar to the old 9-5.  The difference between the 250 hp Aero to 2005 and the Dame Edna's 260 hp was achieved by mapping and a different inlet pipe to the turbo.  The Hirsch tune for the two cars was respectively 280hp and 300hp.  The 300hp tune did not replace the inlet, but did replace the exhaust downpipe and cat.

If I recall well, the most recent 2.0t has a different turbo unit than the early one.
However, the 1.8t has the same turbo unit since the beginning.
Someone to confirm?

The fuel injectors for the early cars have different part numbers for B207R compared to the B207E/L but for the later cars the fuel injectors part number are all the same for B207E/L/R.
