Has it gone wrong at work before?  If not consider my first post.  Post No.3 at the beginning of the thread.

Thought about interference etc until ive just gone outside and tried to lock car, failed to lock and noticed error message key not accepted on dash......put key in ignition and all was ok.....so looks like a new CIM....!

Shortly after....steering lock malfunction appeared......! >:(

In for repair tomorrow at Saabtec.....£120 for an ignition thingy or worse case scenario £400 for a new CIM fitting....!

Defective ignition switch replaced and all in order for £138....Thanks for all the help folks..Daz

Those CIM quotes were just to make the final bill seem cheap! But it's still £138....

At least it's fixed. :)
