Hi

I got a nasty scratch at the tyre workshop in April 2012 and made a lot of investigations to find a matching colour code and I was i contact with Hirsch to get the code but they where very secret about it. The rim is made by BBS and they are also know for keeping their secrets.
If I remember correct the answer from Hirsch was that it is a VW colour (maybe I have the e-mails in my laptop at work, I'll try to check).
However my story ended with a new colour made by the local paint workshop but it's now exactly the same.

I was also in contact with a company in Stockholm who specializes in repairing expensive wheels and that could measure the colour with an analyser that is normally used when re-painting cars since the colour changes over time by wear and tear so even with the correct  colour code it wouldn't match.

I use Pirelli P Zero 235/40 18 95Y XL at the moment and I have no issues with clearance even it it's really tight.
The suspension is MapTun Performace lowering springs with Bilstein B8 shocks.
On the picture it had Eibach springs and Yellow Koni shocks and the handling was horrible and I had some clearance problems.
The tires then was Conti SportContact 5 235/40 18 Y XL

Now I use those wheels on my -05 Aero instead since I consider it to be a better match with the 340mm brake disks.

Edit> This the answer I got from Hirsch

Dear David

The colour code is VW L QQ9 (titanium silver)

Many thanks David for the additional information.

I will go to my nearest motor factors and see what I can find.

Your car looks fantastic, especially on those wheels.

Kind regards

David

That is the only 9-5 I have ever seen with what the EAC calls extra lights!

Back home now.  Been out all day at a funeral in Warwick.

Here's a picture of my rear wheel and arch when fully loaded.

Were those photos taken in Grossglockner?

Do you think they will turn their noses up when I arrive in a SAAB  ;D

If it's Mercedes Chester, the answer is yes.

Photos were taken elsewhere!  But possibly the top one, which was taken in the hotel car park in Calais, was on the way back. The bottom two were taken at home after the holiday last year, before I had unloaded.
