Hi all, first post on this great ad-free forum.

I'd like to change the vacumn hoses on my MY98 900 B204L 110k miles. I've purchased 10 feet of silicone replacement, but being a novice I don't fancy just diving in - I'd love a diagram to work from or advice on where to start! Can anybody help? I've looked far and wide.

I know I need to take one off, measure, cut and replace but that's about it!

Any help much appreciated,

Thanks, Jim

Welcome! :)

I haven't seen a definitive list or plan of the hoses either!!

Avoid the hoses going to the cam cover, which are the engine breather hoses.  Then you do the other small diameter stuff.

If you have 3mm tube, it might be hard to get on, but it should stay.

If you have 4mm tube it should go on OK, but may need to be cable tied in some places for peace of mind.

You will also have the tube to the instrument panel, if your car has a turbo gauge in the instrument panel.  I'm not familiar with the actual set-up on the 900.  There may be a join as the pipe goes through the bulkhead.

Thanks for the prompt reply Sgould - very helpful. I'll give this a go and report back. I think I bought 3mm.

Cheers!

I can't help, but welcome aboard Jim!  ;)

I've seen a comment in the past that you shouldn't replace the tube that goes to the Absolute Manifold Pressure sensor. It is sensitive to the tube length and diameter.
But can't confirm that, so might be an old wives mechanics tale.

When I replaced all my tubing, I just did one at a time! Would love to have a diagram, but not seen one - perhaps you can draw one based on your experience!!  :D
