The electronics break down, there's a repair kit and they are Saab specific and require tech2 to fix. I'd still get it diagnosed properly as it could be something else but without seeing the car or you having the right diagnostic tools you're not going to make any progress.

Happy birthday!

When they start to fail they won't necessarily show any fault, I remember replacing a fair few back in the day when they were super expensive (well over a £1000+ bill!) with fingers crossed that it would solve the problem, especially when it was intermittant similar to what you described.

U2103 varies depending on what module it's discovered in, it's clear it's TCS/ABS https://saabwisonline.com/9-3-9440/2004/dtcs/tcs/u2103-00

I would still suggest it's likely a faulty CIM unit or possibly ECM or TCS module, possibly wiring but CIM sounds the most likely from the descriptions so far. Although, if you fitted an ECM heat shield and don't have a multimeter and haven't cleaned the grounds that might be the case, or maybe you damaged the ECM when fitting the spacer?

Never break the small pane! Very expensive to sort. I vaguely recall front windows are easiest to replace without having to use a autoglazer to do the work for you.

I believe you can get repair kits for the cim, given what you've said so far this is exactly how cim faults used to manifest. They'd be a bit weird and intermittent and if you were lucky they'd die. Saying that I replaced loads with symptoms like yours and never got it wrong but that was 15 years ago now.

Guessing!!,IMO=£££££££££££££

Don't think anyone is suggesting repairing based on a guess and you'd need Tech-2 to go any further, but given the U2105 fault code and the symptoms CIM is the best guess I can make without having the car in front of me.

Sounds like a CIM fault.  Does anything happen when you insert the key?  Steering lock release?

CIM fault would be my best guess too.

I wonder if the low voltage at the ECU would transfer to some of the other Error Codes I get from time to time.  Especially the P0089 which is  the fuel pressure sensor, as read by the ECU.  I will wait and see.

Any bad earth or poor electrical supply will cause gremlins, I had so many odd codes when the battery was failing (codes related to indicator lights, mirrors etc.) and things like "XWD off" appearing on the SID with no codes stored at all.

It seems to have worked.  Charging voltage is now 14.4 volts.  Cranking voltage is above 10v.  Battery is still a touch down, but I haven't given the car a run, or charged the battery, so I expect it to be a bit low.

Is that from the multimeter or esid? I'd be interested to know if the esid is still disagreeing with the meter.

23 years really isn't good enough  ;D

You should write a strongly worded letter of complaint to the manufacturer! (I had a customer c.2009 tell me that it was "ridiculous" that the ABS sensor had failed on their Saab 9000, they told me they'd complain to Saab, and that if Saab were selling such unreliable cars they would go out of business... they didn't seem very happy when I told them that Saab were going out of business)

It's not uncommon for the fault codes to not be in the correct years for wis, sometimes you need to look in the wrong year's to find them.

Ha, I wasn't talking main dealer prices for servicing, just independents! I know people who are paying £600 for intermediate services and £1000 for a main service on newer German cars (with things like this it's always cheaper to take some kind of service plan it seems, not that I know much about new cars). I still remember people telling me to get rid of my old 9-3 pre-pandemic when it was 10 or 11 years old as "that must cost you a fortune in repairs" and "you can get something like mine for just £450 a month" when in reality over the lifetime of that 9-3 it cost me something like £300 a month for everything, depreciation, repairs, maintenance, ved, insurance, fuel.... which I think was a big saving.
