Aero Hot Estate on a 52 plate.

Is it an easy fix? Any recommendations of a supplier?

Thanks

Heating element built onto rear of glass, so its a new glass im afraid. You can pop it out yourself being careful, its located on a ring and secured by clips in 3 places if memory serves me right. disconnect wiring and fit a new one. Last one I got from Saab Main dealer was £68 excl VAT.

Depends if your 52 reg is a late 2002 car or an early 2003 car?  The mirrors changed.

Have a look at the VIN number.  10th digit will be the year number.  2=2002.  3=2003.

Early mirrors have a circle of plastic clips.  The mirror is unclipped by finding the join on the circular mount and twisting a small screwdriver in the join.

Later mirrors have a wire clip holding it to the circular mirror face.  You need to release the ends of the wire from the plastic hooks on the back of the mirror.  Ends can just be seen behind the mirror on the window end.

If it's a 2003 car - Check out the excellent instructions posted by SGould which is are at the top of the page as a sticky. I managed to replace mine after the same problem. Only took 5 minutes. Just be careful when slipping the ring mount off the clips behind the glass that you don't crack the little plastic clips - but apart from that - it's dead easy. I got my heated glass for around £11 +vat from Neo Bros.
