Hi,

The ignition switch has stopped returning by itself. It can be manually returned, so I can drive. So my question is:

Is the return spring part of the lock assembly or the switch assembly?

And: how do you replace it?

Failure of the return spring was the precursor to the switch contacts going on mine, which in turn led to the starter solenoid being permanently energised. I'd just get a complete replacement unit.

Swapping out is fairly simple. The switch is held in place by two allen grub screws (~2.5mm) which can be accessed by removing the steering column shroud and moving a bit of the wiring loom out of the way.
