Some of you will already know the car, this was GeoffR's car which I collected from Ian Allen's place a few weeks ago.

The good news is she's now a runner, and has come off the ramp into the daylight having had a bit of love applied to the front & rear bumpers. They're not perfect, by any means, but certainly serviceable

I spoke to Geoff a few days ago to let him know how I was getting on, as I was very sensitive to the roller coaster ride he has been on with this car

There are a few remaining small jobs to do, which I'll get around to at some point. Did I hear you say pictures ?

These were taken in a break between showers and after a quick jetwash

Glad the car was rescued, I thought the parking area at the back of IA looked sparse when I called there for wiper blades a few weeks back..

Well done! :)  Shame that so many "Saab experts" are unable to fix a Saab properly.

Two deliveries this evening:

The first was some one way valves for the PCV system that connect from the intake pipe from the air cleaner to the turbo & the head. These are NLA, so the functional plastic bit has come from China. I'm not convinced about the functionality of the one way valve yet, too much resistance to flow for ambient air, but I'll put an airline on it to encourage better operation.

The fallback is sticking with my tiewrapped original component, which is a lot better than the insulating tape approach previously deployed

The other was a set of 5 wheel nuts, to replace the locking ones that I find worrying / annoying. These seem to be an open, not closed type, so I'll have to go back to the supplier. Sadly I couldn't get any from Bill at Saabits because there are apparently now none left in Sweden  :(

Re locking wheel nuts - maybe Ron Saab Leeds might have some as he is in the process of dismantling some NGs.  I might put in an enquiry with him to replace my locking nuts.  I think we can relax a little about our wheels since the PCD is not a common size....

another option is Vauxhall but the problem there is PSA/Stellantis indifference towards legacy GM cars.  Oh how fondly we look back at non-PSA derived Vauxhalls.

Oh, I didn't explain very well.

I take them off & replace with standard nuts. The risk of being unable to undo them is far more significant than the risk of theft... at least in my part of the world

If you're looking for some I have 3 sets...
