Soon to be sold, my 9-5 Aero estate
« on: 13 October 2013, 03:15:42 PM »
I'll do a proper posting in the For Sale section once it stops raining and I can get some pretty pictures done, but thought I'd give you a 'heads up' that my 2002 Auto Estate will soon be looking for a new home.

It's in good nick, having had a gentle life. It is on 91k miles, has always had fully synthetic oil, and I'm just the second owner, having owned it nearly 7 years.

It has all the usual fancy Aero toys, and everything works, apart from an occasional 'service theft alarm' warning. MOTd till next summer- comprehensive service history.

I'm in Somerset, drop me a PM is you'd like any further details.

I've taken a few more pics and done a formal advert in the 'for sale' section, please take a look if there's room for a nice automatic Aero in your life  :)

What a bargain for someone. But sad that the tax and insurance will play a disproportionate role in the overall cost. Good luck

Interesting too, to see Saab's facelift programme at work - it's got the original door mirrors, but the later one piece bumper and grille.

Good luck with the sale.

Mirror heads weren't changed until the 2003 model year.  After that they are the same as the 9-3 sport saloon.

The other main change for 2003 was the addition of +/- buttons on the steering wheel for the gearchange in "manual" on the auto box.

It's how you can tell my 03 plated car is an 02 model (and there's plenty about!)

Also the mirrors aren't quite the same, the housing is the same and they look the same but the mountings are different (well, I'm 99% sure they are).

Yes, the later head is common to 9-5 and 9-3, but the door fillet is different between the two cars, I learnt too much about mirrors when I was looking for a replacement for my offside one. Early ones like on SaabGeeza's car are easy to find, the later version which ran for the rest of the 9-5's life is nigh on impossible to get.

Aero now sold, a gentleman with good taste is planning to collect it on Monday.
I'll direct him to this excellent forum if he doesn't know about it already...
