How to Disable Alarm Siren via Tech 2 (to use horn instead)

Hi everyone,

So I have now programmed a new twice, and keys to my saab using a tech 2. I can't figure out how to disable the siren and have it use the horn instead. I just got the "Service Theft Alarm" message from the SID. Alarm siren has a new battery but I have not changed the capacitors etc and need to order them.

Anyone know how to disable the siren and have the car either use the horn or nothing? Played around for an hour and didn't see anything.

I haven't had to do that with my Tech2 yet, I'm learning as I go along.  I think it's hidden in the TWICE section.

I's likely to be a bit quiet round here over Easter, but Audax on here is the man with the most experience with Tech 2.

All/
Add/Remove

I can't remember whether it needed the laptop connected though....

I have memories that the software is a bit dodgy for MY2000 9-3 as some are Trionic 5 and some are Trionic 7.

For Trionic 7 cars you want to go into TWICE and then "adjustment" and there should be an option for alarm type.

For other cars you want to go into "Theft Protection" and then "adjustment".

I think, it's been a long time since I used a Tech-II but if you added keys it's under "adjustment" in the same set of menus.

Now I read the post again and a bit more carefully, I'm 99% certain that you can't set it to use the horn instead of the alarm siren.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah my 2000 is trionic 7. Real shame if you are correct. I'll double check the adjustment section.
