x1 SAAB seen in Bahrain!

I managed to get an afternoon free at last, to go and investigate a SAAB outlet that I had spotted the other week while driving down to Sheik Isa Airbase.
I was hoping to get a spares and accessories price list to compare with UK prices but got a shock when I got there, Mannai Motors showroom, on the island of Sitra, was only full of dull looking Chinese cars called Geely. There were some examples of SAAB alloy wheels hanging on the wall along with a couple of somewhat faded looking SAAB and Opel posters.
Unfortunately the place was closed, so I never got the information I wanted. I turned around to head back to the car and spotted a SAAB 97X parked nearby.
So far it's the only SAAB I've seen here in almost two weeks!

Nip over the causeway to Damman...saw a few newish 93's when I was stuck there in April this year.

I'm pretty amazed I have not seen any apart from the one parked up the other day - plush cars are what they are into here, not to mention that they like to be a bit different usually

Couldn't believe it - I popped out a few mins ago to the shops and parked right outside my own building....






...So there are at least two SAABs in Bahrain!

Unbelievable. Just  few minutes ago I pulled in to the local Alosra supermarket in Amwaj and saw a lovely lime green 93 convertible park up just ahead of me... And I got to chat with the owners, lovely people whom adored it.
Unfortunately I didn't have my camera with me, or a even phone that could take pics, so no pics of it. But that's still SAAB #4 in Bahrain!

Just noticed the Merlot Red one that you photographed last week.  It's the same colour as ours!

Oh and I forgot to mention I gave the STT site a plug  when I spoke to them

I like that Merlot red colour, Sgould, but cannot recall having seen it on any SAAB in the UK

Just had lunch at the Gulf Hotel in Adilya and as we left, a Silver 93 Aero pulled out of a parking slot three cars away with a young Bahraini lad driving it. He must have seen me staring and gave a big grin and wave as he sped off.
This is a cautious SAAB No5 as it may have been the same car I thought was the 95 I glanced the other day, as it's the same area.

Spotted a Green 9000 CD at the side of the road heading into Jeddah from the airport....not many 'older cars' about in KSA (bar the junk US stuff) so a running and undamaged 9000's got to be a rarity.

Next stop's Fujheria!
