Now back in the UK. What a relief. An overnight flight of nearly 7 hours back to Heathrow. Not much kip though  :-\

During the rest of my stay I didn't see any further SAABs which was disappointing.

Home again, Home again, Jiggety Jig...

Yesterday went to pick up me new motor. See Gallery

Heading back to Bahrain from H'row tomorrow morning (courtesy of British scAirways).
So the hunt for SAABs in Bahrain will continue - not that I will find many more than I have already seen, but if I do I'll keep you posted   ::)

Enjoy the cold snap here  ;D
...but above all take care in it!

Aye Geoff, but not by much - it's 19C here and slightly humid.
The lads already here tell me at has been pretty nippy at times, but in the past few days its been starting to warm up, so I expect it will be nice in time for the riots, and it will be dodgy going anywhere  :(

Hi Trenchfoot! To the first part - oh, how my heart bleeds.

But, hmm...  yes, - democracy, for all its faults, comes at a price. Good luck to the innocent.

The Lime Green convertible I saw last summer on the island of Amwaj is still here. One of my colleagues spotted it parked right opposite my apartment block at the Dragon Hotel. I wasn't around or would have said hello to the owners again  :(

With just over a week to go I saw another SAAB here in Bahrain - in City Mall car park - a silver-grey colour 95 looking shiny and well looked after  8)

Think I can still count all the ones I have seen on one hand though :(

Saw this Silver 95 Aero on the Alosra Supermarket car park this afternoon. Was with some colleagues and in a bit of a hurry so couldnt hang around and chat with the owner
Hard to know if it was the one I saw in the Gulf hotel car park last year

No - its still cold here especially at night. Working on the airfield I'm wearing T-shirt; Norwegian army shirt (a thick roll-neck affair like a very heavyweight fleece); a pair of overalls; plus a warm jacket similar to one of those Puffa jackets, and a pair of gloves.
Last night it rained and the fallout left everything covered in a thick layer of powdery, sand watermarks. Ours are VIP jets so they have to be cleaned before they fly - no mean task when you have to get them serviced as well  :-\

The last two days it has been honking down with rain in the morning - and by all accounts today was warmer in the UK than here in Bahrain

BUT WHO CARES! I'M SITTING IN THE AIRPORT AT MUHARRAQ ABOUT TO GET OUT OF HERE!      :D :D :D

Should be 'Sausage side' by 06:30 if BA can keep the kite serviceable
