Just wondered what the possibility is to upgrade the display unit in an NG 9-5 to the sat/nav style? Most cars seem to have the sort of SiD style display rather than the screen.

Lots of discussion on the 2 NG9-5 groups on FB about replacing the standard unit with an Android set up.  How viable it is to do it from a Green Screen set up I don't know, but I guess most of us who've got the colour screen want to get away from the Belgium  default and out of date maps.....

Easy, just buy this and the android head unit of your choice

I don't have the problem with Belgium default maps. There's a firmware upgrade that solves that and some other problems caused by failing hardware. Post your firmware version

I manage with the old maps, but H Blom has an upgrade that takes you to someting this decade at least

As for swpping from non screen to LCD screen. I haven't looked into this too much, as mine are already LCD, but IIRC it isn't an easy upgrade as there's quite a bit of the loom missing to allow the Satnav to work

I have the original firmware in my NG, Ian Allan refused to upgrade it to the more recent variant.  I do have the firmware in my folders somewhere and I might give it a go just to bypass Belgium.

Given that the road infrastructure hasn't changed much since 2010, I am still coping well.  I can always revert to my TomTom if I am in dire need for directions to somewhere new.
