Lost keys ...
« on: 05 September 2025, 01:33:43 PM »
Somehow we have lost our keys to ye olde 9-5 estate. I think there may be a spare key in the car, but how can we get into it, short of smashing a wind

It may depend upon the urgency. When I did that I had to smash a window, but that was because there was a baby locked inside and the spare key was about 20 miles away.

I smashed the nearside front, and was told afterwards that that was the best option, since it's the one thieves smash to get straight to the glovebox, and is therefore the best stocked!

I would be tempted to break the small pane in a rear door, loads of them available I would suggest and fewer bits to clean up

The small pane is also the most expensive if you can't find the right one. It comes with the rubber and metal frame bonded in.

Never break the small pane! Very expensive to sort. I vaguely recall front windows are easiest to replace without having to use a autoglazer to do the work for you.
