Good article. People forget about the 2009 forced liquidation of Saab just before the Spyker takeover. The new concern was left without suppliers for various components for the NG9-5 which explains a lot why the 2010 and 2011 cars were somewhat compromised on the quality front, especially on the dashboard..
Look at Opel/Vauxhall now...Russelsheim engineering was the backbone of many of the cars in GMs portfolio for decades, just think of T-Car (Kadett) and J-Car (Ascona/Cavalier) and now? Vauxhalls that are lightly disguised Peugeots with that awful engine.
Meanwhile, fears are growing for the other Swedish brand..
