Fog light
« on: 01 April 2026, 12:02:43 PM »
On the 2007 9-5 I have somehow dinged the nearside foglight. I have sourced a replacement from the Bay of Plenty but it's very slightly different. The old foglight had a halogen bulb and some odd little vent tubes I assume because of heat build up. but the replacement doesn't have the little tubes and has an LED bulb. I think I'll just get a couple of LED bulbs but is this street legal?

I have a 2007 9-5 and the foglight bulbs are sttandard tungsten filament H8 bulbs. Not halogen, xenon or LED.

The attached pictures are the standard item.  I don't think that the foglight is measured in the MOT, other than "all lights fitted to the vehicle must work".

The rubber tube is an air vent.  It prevents the glass from misting up.

Tes, that is exactly like the fog light I took off, complete with an H8 bulb. The newer one I have doesn't have the little rubber vent tubes and has a LED bulb. I think I'll replace both sides with LED bulbs, having different bulbs port and starboard can cause odd problems
