Dame Edna - how to reset service indicator??

I know how to reset the service indicator on the older shape 9-5's, but no idea how to do it on the dame edna 9-5's.

My car was serviced the other day, 10 miles short of the service mileage interval. As soon as I passed the mileage and restarted the car, I'm getting "Intermediate Service Due" or something like that. Wish it had said that before it was due as it's just had a major service :(

Anyhow, anyone know if this can be done without the need for a Tech II?

Saab say that you press the clear button on the steering wheel for 8 seconds while keeping your foot on the brake.

Some say this doesn't work.

Let us know how you get on.

Thanks Will - I'll try that. Did try pressing clear for ages, but didn't have my foot on the brake. :)

Did it this morning.

Ignition on, but engine off.

Foot on brake.

Press and hold when warning showing (don't release and press again - this used to work on older shape I think, but not on newer car).

Good luck - it all felt a bit random to me..........

I've done it twice now.  But as you say it feels odd.  I'm not sure what I actually did on either occasion!  But it seemed to work.

I know I pressed the Clear button the second time, but I don't know if I had my foot on the brake!

The first time the Clear button didn't work - probably no foot on brake - so I pressure the trip button for a few seconds, as I had to on her old Ford Galaxy, and that seemed to work too!

But I've also heard that the message disappears after a time anyway, so it could have been a coincidence both times! :)

Hadn't seen this thread - ah well.

Tried on my car.

Ignition on but car not started.

Foot on brake.

Press clear button and held until is said "SERVICE". Took about 10 seconds ish.

Took the key out and tried again, and now it's just saying "OK" (Or is it "Check OK"?), so it's worked for me :D :D

It shouldn't be this hard!!!

I think it only works when the sun is in the west and the wind is blowing east.........

Just to add that this also works when you get the "Intermittant Service Due" indicator. Had to do this twice though - said "CLEARED" at first, then second attempt it did come up with "SERVICE".

Indicator wasn't on when it went for it's service the other week so wasn't reset at the time.
