iOS5

Have you installed it (or acquired it on a new 4S), or have you upgraded from iOS 4.3.5 ?

What do you think so far?

I did my iPhone 3GS last night.  Not really had much time to play.  But the Reminder app looks OK.

I tried the night before and I got the restore error that many were getting. :(  Servers overwhelmed apparently...

I'm in the middle of downloading it all again (why can't one download suffice!!) - 10 minutes remaining - on her iPad.  Then the hour to install I expect. Maybe some more functions on the iPad.

Did it this morning on my iPhone 4.

Post download it then has to re-install all of your apps desppite doing a "restore" and more annoyingly doesn't restore the handy folders that you had put them in! Took around 1hr30.

Liking the camera access with double press from standby and the shutter on the vol up button. Not had a chance to really evaluate the rest of it but from the blurb looks to be an overall improvement- perhaps what the 4 should have been on release?

This always happens after a restore :(

iMessage is very good.
Access to camera will double tap of home button and volume control is good.
Swipe down from top of screen (by time) to view notifications, weather, stock prices etc.  Handy.

I like.  iPhone 4S arrived this morning.

I did skip 3GS and 4, though - got rid of my iPhone 3G six months ago and have been using an HTC Evo since then.  I won't be sorry to see the HTC go; Droid is nice in some ways, particularly if you're into endless tweaking.  But at my advanced age I prefer the simplicity of iOS.  New features all look pretty good.

Having a bit of a marathon sync and upgrade this week - four iPads to update and two new iPhones to set up, plus MobileMe to iCloud migration.  It's exhausting.

Tomorrow I'll see how the 4S plays with Ford Sync (which the Droid is pretty good at) and ask Siri some silly questions :D

plus MobileMe to iCloud migration.

This is the bit I have not done yet.  Let me know how you get on.

Tomorrow I'll ...ask Siri some silly questions :D

Stuff that Siri says is quite amusing.

[edit] oh, it's become a bit childish since I last looked.

Not sure why you lost the apps?  You can download them all again at no cost.

There's something like 200 changes.  iMessage is new and pretty good.  The way notifications work is improved.  You can now stream video from iTunes to your iPhone wirelessly.

iPhone 4s arrived yesterday, finally got sim activated today, was lost in the android wilderness for 18 months, ahh I'm liking the apple way!
Updated iPad with a small drama, ended up with iOS 5 but a blank iPad! Luckily a sync sorted it and restored it!

I installed ios5 the minute it came out, took 12 hours to do, and had to remove all my music and apps off the phone as it put EVERYTHING on my PC onto the phone

I thought it was all running great untill 10 mins ago when I plugged it into my PC, its now telling me I have to reinstall it all again as it didnt do it properly last time  >:(

I tried upgrading my iPhone 4 on the evening iOS 5 was released.  Started at about 9pm, finished at 1am.  Most of the intervening time the device's only possible use was as a paperweight.

Upgraded the iPad the following day and that all went fine.

Got two more iPads (not mine) to upgrade tomorrow.  Not expecting any issues now that Apple servers are not slammed.

it says its all done now, we'll see about that

I cloud is not much use to me, as i use a PC, and my ipod isnt ios5 compatible

I must admit I do like the new updated version of ringtone designer though, at long last I can have a text tone of MY OWN choosing

I did my phone in some hours on day 2.  Day 1 was hopeless.  iPad a couple of days later was quick.
