Ooops Aeriel

Hi. I wonder if anyone can help me with some info please.
I came round a corner tonight to find a branch hangin into the road from a hedge.I swerved out as much as possible but it caught my aeriel,which is a genuine saab electric one ::) So now i have a snapped aeriel mast.
I know Elkeparts used to sell the masts seperately but i understand they ceased trading this year.I would rather not buy a complete aeriel from saab as i think they are around £114 ::) Does anyone know another supplier i can purchase just the mast part from please? The car is a '98 900 by the way :)

Hi Mick,

Bad luck.

Is it an electric aerial? If so you should be able to purchase a replace mast via eBay. I did so recently for my 2001 9.3 and it cost about £12 including postage in the UK. The supplier trades on eBay as car-masts-uk and have 100% feedback on over 20,000 transactions.

Mine came complete with instructions and took about 30 minutes to fit including removing the old.

You can buy just the mast from Saab too.

I shall ring saab dealer monday to see how much they want for just the mast and if its too extortionate il go for the ebay one :)

Hi men.
Had a chat with my mate who i bought the car off and he says the aeriel on the car is not a genuine saab one ::) says he fitted an aftermarket one so buying just the mast probably wont work :-\
So now i either have to bite the bullet and buy a genuine saab one or find a complete replacement aeriel :(

Neobros did me a whole unit for circa £40 a couple of months back - 3 month warranty. I also have a 1998 900. Seen them for less on fleabay but no warranty. Good luck.

Yeah thats about what he said the one he fitted cost him. Il have a look around.
