as above, ive a 1997 900s and had to try sort the latching motor as window wouldnt lock down and we had a 1300 mile trip from spain to do, got a temp repair to a bush to enable it to lock but now it wont unlock  >:( ive located another motor but how do you get to the installed motor while the hoods locked down ? also got chance of a nearly new 9-3 motor (1998) which the guy assured me will fit as it was a factory udgrade/recall , any views gratefully accepted.  Ian..w/york's

It's strange they say it will fit as 900's use electric motors and 9-3's use hydraulic rams ans pump.

I was under that impression as well, but seemingly the latch motor on the cover is the same just a slightly different  lock mechanism on the ends of the alloy beam, with motor off it matches my photo's of the old one, colour coded wires are the same but the cable is slightly different so i got the section of loom as well, will post up when i go back to spain and try fit it,was hoping there would be a better way of opening the locked cover, dont fancy laying in the boot but if thats the only way arghhhhhhhh !! :o

Sounds like you found the right person to help you sort it out Ian. Be sure to let us know how you get on  ;)

Right. If you open the boot and look to the right and up and there's a gap in the carpet. If you've got the car manual it's in there too. You put the wheel wrench in a slot and release the tonnue.
