I think I've found an alternative to Mobil 3309 ATF

The Aisin-Warner 5 speed auto box used by Saab specifies an ATF matching Mobil 3309.

There is a Fuchs ATF4400 that claims if is OK for "Saab 3309"

Why do you need an alternative? I think that's working to be slightly more expensive than the genuine stuff?

The Opie price of £8.80/litre is a lot less than the Saab price of £9.55 + VAT

Although Euro Saab Parts can do Saab 93160393 for £6.42 +VAT.  Which looks OK.

You can get the genuine stuff even cheaper than that, quick search shows it available for £5.99 a litre

Even then, I'd say that if you can't afford the extra 75p (less than 10%) a litre of the Saab stuff over the Fuchs then you probably can't afford to run a car. I wasn't be difficult just asking a honest question of why searching for something that's readily available and not used very often to save a few pence

Well, I wondered.  And I'm just inquisitive

The Saab stuff is a bit cheaper than it was.  But the question is always being asked.  And I used to work next to Fuchs depot in London a couple of years ago and they didn't have an equivalent then.

The Saab stuff always was around the £8 mark from memory, I've never known it to be pricey. Volvo and Renault drivers used to buy it from Saab dealers as they had to fork out nearly £20 a litre for stuff in a can with Volvo or Renault written on it!
