I have looked at the above thread on this re replacement. Just the glass fell off my o/s door today, it didn't break. Is it possible just to stick it back on and what would be the best adhesive to use and how much/where would be the best to apply it?

Thanks

Did the glass fall off the plastic backing plate that is the same size and shape?  Or did the whole thing fall off the circular motor?

I would try an epoxy of some sort.  They harden with heat.  But it does mean that it won't harden if you do it outdoors on a frosty day!!

Thanks, for input as always.

I will give it a go, but with the cold weather forecast and no garage as you say it might not set. I suspect it would be easier just to buy the replacement with back plate.  It is only when you have no mirror you realise how often you look at it.

Shop around on the net, I had this happen December last year, got a few prices around £15/20, ended up paying £8.98 inc post !!! Replacement perfect, including demist function.

I was thinking you would remove the backplate and stick it back together indoors in the warm..... :)

That's so simple, it's brilliant!

I'm having a stupid day....

I was working on the leak on my flat roof. My jeans are a bit tight, so I took my wallet out of my pocket.  Then I drove into town to go shopping.....  ::)

I went out for petrol last week but the station was closed for a delivery (Shell garage). This was fortunate because when I got home I saw my wallet lying on the kitchen table. Would have meant a two mile walk each way if I'd filled up before realising.
