0-60mph sprint?
0-100mph sprint?
0-150mph sprint?

A standard 9-5 Aero, or 9-3 Aero?

Some of us have both models, and may choose to divulge their various 'time trial histories' I am sure...

My Hirsched 9-5 Aero estate is faster than her Hirsched 9-3 Vector saloon.  But not by a lot.

The Hirsched 9-3 is faster in acceleration than a standard 9-3 Aero.

The 9-5 & 9-3 Aero saloons in standard form?  9-5 would edge it, just.

My 2.2tid estate is certainly slower, 0-60 a fortnight  ;D ;D ;D

Thought as much.
Interesting too that our 2.3t Estate beats the Aero off the line rather easily and may even get it to 60 too...
Need to test that one.

The standing start times in an Aero are not helped by the bigger turbo that is slower spooling up to speed.

That's what does it in the 9-3 comparison.  I had the opportunity to check our Hirsched 1.8t with 195 hp against a loan car 9-3 Aero with 210 hp.  I felt the Aero was sluggish.  when I checked the torque curves.  The torque on our car was higher than the Aero up to about 4000 rpm.

Fuel density makes such a difference too. My 9-3 Aero Hirsch on 98RON fuel has very little lag, if any and seems to go quite mad over 2500rpm. To me this is the bigger intercooler and exhaust doing its thing. But put it on 95 fuel and it goes out to lunch.

Interestingly this car at this point has the standard ECU in it. Looking to get it back to where it should be with a reprogram in the coming months.
