hi all after some help.
whilst checking the levels in the gearbox, 95 aero auto 2002, I notices a hose pipe that was not attached at one end. I looked around but could not see anything that it should be attached to.
looking at he engine bay from the front it start on what I assume is the gear box. it is behind the dip stick and to the left. it comes up and then runs to the inside of the battery box and then is attached to nothing.
anyone got an idea of what it is and where it should be attached to?
many thanks

A picture would help,  but I'm guessing its a breather/vent pipe, i'm sure a more knowledgeable bod will be along to give a more detailed answer.

I'm pretty sure that's a vent.  It doesn't connect to anything.

If it's the hose I'm thinking of then it's It's the gearbox vent hose and is attached at only one end, it exists to stop nasty stuff getting into the gearbox.

By a strange coincidence, I noticed the same on mine a few days ago when I was checking for air leaks. I imagine that there is a clip somewhere to stop it flapping in the breeze, but didn't bother looking further. The free end had obviously never been connected to anything and therefore I assumed it was just a breather.
