Sorry to hear that... Good luck!

I bought some of the Lucas additive too, but haven't added it yet as, after buying, I read somewhere that it can damage the rams quite considerably in the long run....mind you, it was posted by a ram-refurbishing company!

I thought I'd keep it until I get a heavier leak and there's nothing to lose!

Best wishes

Well, I put the stop leak stuff in - pre-mixed it in a 5:1 ratio (oil: stop leak).

All seemed good - I've been driving with the top down nearly all the time - but I've seen oil drops in front of the rear wheels indicating the is still a leak. And I heard the characteristic sound of the pump searching for the last drops of oil.

I plan to increase the amount of stop leak and see if that improves things.

Well, I can't honestly say the Stop Leak stuff has fixed my leaks.

With all the wet weather lately, I haven't been driving with the roof down too much, but with the sunshine we're having I've been using the roof and enjoying the wide open sky whilst driving, but I've just heard the tell-tale signs of the pump trying the suck up the last of the liquid in the tank.

The worst thing - I haven't got any more hydraulic fluid so can't use the roof now.

Hi Mike,

I am wondering if your leak solved or not? I just found another reseal named AT 205 and somebody told me it might work . Check out the video on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HTT0sejhoOQ

My system is still leaky.

I will check out the AT 205 you have recommended, especially after your success.

Thanks,

Mike

Mine is still OK now. Be sure to open/close top for several times after filling the reseal  (I did around 30 times but I don't know how many exactly will make it work.). Also, I filled around 1/3-1/2 bottles of the reseal.

I  seem to have a similar problem with my roof. I have found a supplier for the Saab hydraulic fluid but where can I buy the STP AT 205 stop leak. Does anyone know if any of the other "stop leak" products work ?

Hi Copernicus,
You can get AT-205 from Amazon.com at around $10 buck. The AT-205 is still working for me after almost half year. By the way, where did you get the hydraulic fluid? I got my oem fluid from eEuroparts.com around $40 buck. It's not cheap at all.

Hi Dave
I have ordered mine from the same place you got yours but in England it is only £17  (seventeen pounds) compared to the £25 that Saab want. I alsothink I have sourced a supplier for the AT205 also in England for £13.00

Just had an interesting talk with my local Saab dealer who has informed me that the Saab hydraulic fluid has now been superseeded by ordinary power steering fluid ! Half the price from Saab at £15.00 per litre and even cheaper from places like Halfords. I can't find anyone in the UK who sells ATP AT 205 reseal but you can buy power steering fluid that has a built in sealent, wonder if that will do.

Has anyone had a similar conversation with their Saab dealer/tech? I'd like more then one opinion before pouring potentially damaging fluid in the reservoir. Not that I don't trust you Copernicus, however I don't trust any one opinion. I'd like to see the tech bulletin that changed this.

I've a friend that used Lucas stop leak and his hoses are coming loose at the pump. Just a FYI on the Lucas stop leak.

***To update my post. I cleaned out my reservoir and added CHF-11s and seems to be working fine.

Heads up on taking off the reservoir from the pump. There is a magnet and screen w/ clamp on the intake tube.
