I should know the answer from my time on Saabscene, but I don't remember :( . An age thing ? I need to change the battery in my key fob ( 9.5 Aero 2002  manual saloon ) . Would be helpful if I knew which replacement battery I need and how to do it . ( good to back among Saab friends too I might add )

Hi Rob and a real big welcome to STT!  8)
I can't help with your question but someone will definately be along soon, that can.

Thank you . Good to see so many of the " old" Saabscene faces on here. Just like the old times :0)

If it's an all in one key with the buttons in the body it will be a CR1632 and just for completeness if it's a separate remote it will be a CR2032.

As far as I recall you need a stout paperclip to stick in the little hole to release the clip, and a small electrical screwdriver to gently prise off the cover of the fob, then you're in.

Thank you . Now that seems to " ring a bell " Will try it :0)

Further help with decoding the battery numbers - not everybody knows or recalls that they are meaningful.  So - in case anyone has a numberless battery, for these little flat lithium ones, the first 2 digits are the diameter in mm, the second 2 are the thickness in 10ths of mm.  So - a 2032 is 20mm diameter, 3.2mm deep, and so on.  Don't go measuirng it with a metal vernier gauge cos it shorts it out and you have an ex-battery. :-[
