9-5 Sport Combi.  Unregistered "prototype" in auction in Sweden. Not suitable for road use - they say....

Current bid around £11.5k... you could get it through type approval as a personal import, like those hot Japanese motors popular a few years back...  just sort out the correct lightbulbs and speedo.   Or it's a one-off, like a kit-car...

Go on Will, you know you want to.

Still 2 weeks to go on the bidding.  I think it will go too high.  It was only on £2500 when I made the first post.....

Paper Plane

You can't tell me that a car like that wouldn't have sold if it was put into production.

I'm finally in a position where I would likely be able to afford a new car. I always intended seriously looking at the 9-5 Combi when it came out. I think they would have sold loads of them.  :(

I saw one at the motor expo in London a year and a half ago. All I can say is wow, I want one!

The 9-4X was very nice too I have to say, but it would have been the 9-5SC for me please.

Such a shame.  :'(

Since I started this thread, the cars have been auctioned off.

Unfortunately they went for high prices - far too high for me to consider.

Saabs United have a couple of links to the whereabouts of some of the cars. A whole tranch went to a dealer in the Czech Republic, and there's an RHD one in the Netherlands, I think.  Check www.saabsunited.com when it comes back up from maintenance - it seems to have been seriously delayed.

The site is back up again now.  :) Took a lot longer than they had planned.

Get out the cheque book. Several cars have now been approved for road use.  :) :) :) Lucky bu**ers.

Who on here is going to be the first to spot one in the wild?

Apart from the links above.  Here are two more from Saabs United.

There was one RHD Sport Combi in the auction.  Where did that end up? It wasn't me.  It went for over £40k  :o

Still sad these never made it to full production: that would almost certainly have been my next car!
