Been thinking about JM's rattle. Isn't the purpose of the upper bolts that fit in the fixtures in the roof, that so you can tighten the bolts with the thumbscrew to stop rattles. Just a thought.

Indeed they are and with a little pressure on back seats then it all moves ever so slightly and causes a small but irritating rattle. A little foam or cushioned tape just stops the noise. I've tried tightening bolts with tool rather than hand but it's really just down to tiny movement in rear seat if occupied. Had a merc estate before and never had a similar problem. Also we have two 95s and in second we have the netting guard and no problems with it.

Road tested today and no rattles. The one I got was from a 1999 MY so maybe slightly different to the newer types but there certainly is no play between upper fixings and lower fixings are tight too.
