How many Carlssons left?

Does anyone know how many 9000 Carlssons are left on the road? I know my old white 2.3 Carlsson is no more, and there are very few appearing for sale nowadays. Anyone got any numbers?

That's good timing then  ;D  Just had a look (working for me) and according to that site there are 33 hatches and 60 CD's left, though there are a fair few more that are currently SORN'd..

If it's based on the DVLA info, would it include the SORNed cars?

When you click on one of the cars it takes you into another page which shows you the SORN numbers, which I believe are separate to the numbers shown on the first page.

ha-ha, I thought you had written "How many Clarksons left?"

Reminds me of the Clarkson Island sketch but that belongs in the forecourt chat.

The website you have posted is very interesting, I actually spotted a 900 Carlsson, yesterday, of which it is probably only one of two left on the road.

I was looking at the site last night and I don't quite believe the figures, I know of 2 Carlsson models which are on the road and I can't believe that they are the only 2! Did they maybe get registered as something else for some years or maybe the DVLA data is a bit patchy. I also noticed that for some years of cars that new ones were registered well after production, look at the 9000 Aero and it says that 3 were registered new in 2001, 2 in 2002, 1 in 2003, 1 in 2004, 3 in 2005 and 1 in 2006 which is a bit.. well, odd really.

Could they be imports?

Or is that the only way they can show a car that's come out of SORN?

Could be ones took off the road before SORN came along? Think it was true that these vehicles are ignored by DVLA?

The weird ones could also be down to mistakes by the importer declaring them wrong, mine is a CSE but insurance believes its a ECO CSE??!!

Didn't think of that. Used to see no end of 9000's for sale on Autotrader that were listed as Carlssons (eg P reg's) even though they blatantly were not..

Actually, thinking about it I used to have a 2.3 lpt 9000 Anniversary auto until a couple of years ago. It was badged as SAAB 9000 Anniversary Auto on the V5 (or something very much like that), now if you do a search for it on askmid it comes back as an SAAB 9000 Aero Turbo ???
