PM is restricted until you have made 5 posts.

Find a chat thread and post four times!! :)  It's a simple way of stopping spam e-mails.

As Kev_Mc says, it's all a bit new.

We recognise that there is a need for all relevant Saab information to be available, so we don't want to prevent traders from posting.

At the moment all help is useful.   Independent recommendation of a trader or supplier is fine.

The only thing that is not allowed is anonymous self-promtion by a trader or their employee.

We will allow a trader or supplier to post about their work, but they must identify themselves as a trader, either by user name or the "Custom Title"/"Personal Text".  Preferably in the Classified section.  This is all currently under review and we may change things in future.

Customer Service Desk / How to insert pictures in your post.
« on: 30 June 2011, 12:14:00 AM »

At the moment SaabTechTalk is still in the development stage.  We do not have room on our server for uploading full size attachments, only small thumbnails.

To show a full-size picture, you will need to find somewhere on the web to host them.  Sites like photobucket, Saabphotos, Picasa, etc. are places that can do this.

Then you need to find the URL of the picture itself.  This will be a URL that ends in things like .jpg, .png or .tif etc. and will usually be in the address box at the top of the web page.

Copy the URL of the picture.

Go to your post and click at the point you want to put the picture.  The insertion point line will appear there and flash.

Click on the "Image" button above the reply box.  It's the one on the second row at the left, under the "B".

You should then see this appear with the insertion point flashing in the middle.

Paste the URL at that point.  There must be no spaces between the URL and the brackets.

That's it!! :)

Scrolling is all very well, but I think that this should be off limits....

Welcome!!

Hopefully Saab will do better than Rover!  At least GM let them keep the new products.  BMW pinched the Mini and sold the rest.  If Vladimir Antonov gets on board (and he is as clean as they say), I think there's a good chance of survival.

Welcome Chris! :)

It was a bit like duck.  All serene on the surface (mostly) but the mods were paddling like hell underneath!!

I've heard of Aquapel.  it's supposed to be similar to Ombrello isn't it?  I was happy with Ombrello but I can't find it now.

I use the Lithuanians in the hand wash at the end of the road!! :)

AutoGlym Fast Glass on the side windows and I tried the Gtechniq G1 stuff on my windscreen, but I thought that RainX was better.

Classic Saab 9-5 (MY 1998-2010) / Re: Rear Parking Assist Sensors
« on: 29 June 2011, 01:46:32 PM »
On the 2002 model the sensors are fitted to the black bumper trim.

The book says that you have to lever off the black corner pieces before you can pull off the centre strip.  Then unclip each sensor from the holder and unplug it.

Seems that ylee is practising euthanasia on Carlssons... :o

Same engine.

I think that the auto was omitted from the 9-5 because of space.

In the Vauxhall the engine is installed differently.  I've not seen one, but I don't think that the engine is tilted over so far which is what caused the Saab problems in the main. It made the original dipstick read high and so the engine was usually short of oil!!

I have a picture of 66666 somewhere, but I can't find it...

I also have a photo on my old camera of a DTE of something like 1174 miles!! :)  I got that while coasting down the south side of the St Gotthard Pass.
